Oh no, he chaned on the dark side. I think I can hear your wheezing breath
Only one year learning you did and a Jedi you wanted to be already...

No, seriously Stephen, enjoy the new toys.

Good light,
Prieni

Edit: Just checked, canonuser.co.uk seems not to be taken so far

Thanks Martin!

No, the avatar pic was taken AFTER the return of my beloved K20. I had a little session doing self portraits and then used local equalisation to 'roughen up' the face. I could be talked into posting the bigger version, looks quite funny...

Hope that Dr. Mhuni gets more than two shots to choose from...

Edit: P.S.: Maybe I'm looking a bit grim because my wife is away at sea...

Well, your fault for sending one of these 'read only once, then self destruct' e-mails. This really sounds like a lame excuse on their part.

now they have found it work will begin
You just call them and mysteriously that 'mislaid e-mail' appears (must have fallen out of the RAM and got stuck in the CPU cooler).

What can I say
I know what I would say and that certainly isn't fit for posting in this civilized forum.

I hope that at least you will get it back in best working order.

As the Germans are always very thorough they are also on the topic of TV licence.
Basically we have the same set up as in the UK. The differences are:
- We do get advertisements on the public channels (though less than on the private ones)
- Since the public channels have started broadcasting on the internet you now have to pay TV licence as a business if you have an internet enabled computer (which you are required to have for submitting your tax forms) in your business. You don't need to have a radio or TV set anymore.

Cheeky, isn't it?
You don't have to receive radio and TV, it's enough to have the equipment to potentially receive it.

When this was introduced someone had the brilliant idea to claim childrens allowance. He had no kids, but he had the equipment to potentially have some Needless to say, he didn't get the allowance.

Anyway...I am curious with what you are going to surprise us.
Me too I haven't figured it out, yet. I had a few (lame) attempts over the last few days. I'm hoping to get something on the weekend. My wife is at sea so I have ample time...

Thanks Martin!

Yes, I saw some brilliant star trail shots in the voting for PPG.

Any problems with battery power when leaving the shutter open and mirror up for such a long time? The manual warns that sensor cleaning should only be done with a full battery (or power supply). And that only takes a minute at most...
It must become a serious issue at 8 hours exposure time (plus, it seems it's a thing that you only can do far far from any civilisation).

Sounds like a fun thing to try, quite unusual these days that you set up the camera only to take a single shot...

Cheers,
Prieni

That reminds me of a piece I saw on British TV once, claiming that the best tulips were grown in.... Britain, of course
No, that wasn't on April 1st and I seem to remember that it was on the Beeb. They were dead serious

So while the images are great, I suspect you sneaked over to that island, Britain, and got your shots there

I guess that you really missed some hills or mountains nearby to get a bird's eye view. Maybe you could talk a wind generator service technician to take you up one of the turbines...
