Time to say "Good-bye"

Hi all

I've not been around for a little while and maybe it's time to say good-bye.
As some of you will remember, back in May/June last year I had to sell my Pentax kit to help pay for an unexpected bill.
Well the Pentax kit sold without any problems and at the prices which I advertised (old news from last year).
I have also been busy building funds to buy my new camera and lenses.
My luck changed for a short while and my funds built up quite well, better than I anticipated.
Unfortunately (in respect for this forum) but fortunately for myself I have jumped ship.
After much thought and alot of "do I or don't I" I've actually (earlier this year) bought a full frame camera and pro lenses, all new.
I actually bought a Canon 5D mark II camera and (separately) bought a 24-105mm f/4 L lens, a 200mm f/2.8 L prime lens and a 100mm f/2.8 macro lens plus bag, filters etc...

So I would like to say a big thank you to the members who have given me some great advise.
Hopefully I will pop in from time to time but for now I will say good-bye and thanks.

Good luck

Crikey Stephen, they must have done!

Have a great time with your new camera, we won't hold it against you.

At least it's a well respected camera. Good luck for the future.

I hope you declared all those Ebay profits to the taxman, they have a nasty habit of coming back at you when least expected

Have fun with the new kit.

Thank you for the good wishes.
I have learnt a lot in the past year, hence my name lol.
I am really pleased with the new kit but still need to save up for another lens or two but prices are so expensive at the moment (exchange rate).
I've enjoyed my time here and have taken on board some great advise.
I still regret selling my *ist DL, such a great camera with some great results. Some of those results are even better then the Canon 5D mark II but it's still early days. FF is something else, losing the 1.6 APS really suits my needs.

Thanks again

Good luck with the Canon kit.

Perhaps we should have a Pentax ex patriot forum.

and don't forget, you can still use M42 and K mount glass via an adaptor in stop down mode, in case you should feel the need for SMC.

have fun with the new toys
you don't have to be mad to post here

Thanks, I've actually looked at that and the adapter isn't expensive either.
Will bare it in mind.

You're welcome to join me anytime, I can highly recommend the 5D mark II.

If only I realised how good my copy of the *ist DL was before I upgraded to the K10D. Oh well that's all history now.

Maybe I'll still need some friendly advise from here from time to time, thanks.
