Hi guys,

the 30-day trial of Photoshop CS is counting down the days rapidly. So far I'm using Corel PhotoPaint, which isn't bad. But with the new raw support for the *istD I think my arms are finally twisted (not to mention the nice other new features of CS).
Now, CS is a bit pricey (especially when you recently bought a *istD) and I don't want to spend extra £'s. So the question is: Where do you get a reasonable price for Photoshop CS?
Will there be a significant price drop as time moves on?

Grateful for any answers,
Prieni

I suspect so, it's similar to what I came across (although I didn't have that many speckles). However, after blowing the sensor carefully they were gone. (And were later on replaced by new ones...).
Sometimes they show up even darker, sometimes they are hard to see...

Cheers,
Prieni

I just saw some wedding pics on the *istD pages of the Pentax US site http://www.pentaxusa.com/products/cameras/camera_overview.cfm?productid=18981 . It's refering to Ken Lavalle http://www.kenlavalle.com , a contact email for Ken can be found on his WEB-page. Seems like he's using the *istD for wedding photography, so maybe he can help you with your questions...

Hope this helps,
Prieni

Hi George,

I think the best answer to your question would be if someone would send you a few shots (preferably portraits or people shots) in original resolution and you would process them the way you intend to. Thus you could judge the quality yourself. Unfortunately I don't have people shots of that sort so far, but I'm sure someone on the forum could help you out.
Only thing I can offer are some shots of landscape and/or plants. However, since they are from a holiday trip I only shot in the best JPG setting, no RAW images.

Who can help out George?

Hope this helps,

Hi Julia,

I too was nervous about getting a *istD. More so because I didn't own a Pentax before (but two Ricoh SLR's which use the Pentax K-bajonet). Now that I have it for a week I wouldn't want to part from it. It's really cool and I love it. Unfortunately I hadn't much chance to go outside and try it out thoroughly (however, I've made over a hundred shots with it already). From what I've experienced so far it's really awesome.
In this forum there are also quite a few good tips (like NeatImage and MattMatics noise profiles for it). I'm pretty sure that you will enjoy the *istD.
Best regards,
Prieni
