I do have the 24-70; being a bit wider and a little bit sharper towards the edges makes it better for landscape I think. I found the weight of it appalling at first, but when I realised how useful it was I decided it was worthwhile, and got used to it.

They come out of Tamron's factory in Japan, apparently. Pentax probably helped Tamron with the weather sealing; I would be surprised if the weather sealing on the Pentax and Tamron variants differed. Not sure how lens based SR degrades image quality - you can turn it off. Having it in body is better but that's nothing to do with the lens really.

I totally agree! Several people have posted comparison scenes that 'prove' the K1ii is slightly better. But either way, it's splitting hairs on a gnat's crotch. The differences between these full frame cameras are now meaningless in real world use IMO. Fretting about small differences in how the cameras render noise in a 100% crop at IS0 51200 is a form of neurosis.

2000 shots in multiple exposure mode?

I came across this technique while looking for a workaround to use with my Samyang 14mm. I can't afford a 150mm filter system, so this looks like it might be worth playing with.

It's a technique that's also used for star trails. You take multiple exposures and blend them. Say you have 10 x 3-second exposures, that's a 30 second long exposure shot after blending. If your camera has multiple exposure mode, it can all be done in camera. If you want to go beyond ten shots, you could use the intervalometer and process them yourself.

Wouldn't it be nice if this could be automated as a mode in your camera? You could tell it the length of exposure you wanted, and then it could calculate and fire off the number of shots required and process the result in-camera for you.
