The enhanced kit lens on the K200D swung it for me. The menu based controls are a faff compared to the K10D, but coming from an *istDL2, I am quite rapid with the fn button and four way controls!

That lens (the 100mm macro) is £150 in my local camera shop!

Add in my 80-200mm SMCA and 17mm Tokina, and I'm now kitted up and ready to do some shooting! (When the camera arrives lol)

I see there are some very temptingly priced K10D's about. I haven't actually seen one in the flesh though, so I'm a little concerned about bulk; and the K200D seems to have the edge in terms of image quality (mark 2 lens, DR, and noise control options) and would be a nice compact package with a fast manual lens on the front. (I like street photography!)

If my boat contents insurance had covered these items I would no doubt be looking to upgrade to a K20D; but they didn't, so I am considering second hand options or perhaps the K200D or K-m -- or even, perhaps going over to the dark side, and getting a N-k-n D60!

There is an 'HDR filter' as well but this seems to be just a visual effect of dubious value.
However I have seen articles claiming the K200D can take 3 shots in succession then combine them for an automated HDR shot.
These seem to be three different things! None of the mainstream reviews mention the real in-camera HDR though so I am sceptical. And it would only be slightly more effort to simply bracket exposure and then combine the shots in HDR software or Photoshop - in which case you'd have more control.
When I get my K200D I'll do a report!
