It is a shame that LCE stopped carrying Pentax as it was nice to handle items before buying.
Unfortunately 'before buying' usually means going home and ordering from Amazon/eBay. I'm not surprised it's getting harder for LCE to justify selling a relatively niche brand like Pentax.

If it's your first time, keep it simple and make handling the lighting your main focus. Maybe think of three shots you want to try out in terms of lighting them. If coming up with a creative idea or fine-tuning the model's pose has to wait for the next shoot, so be it.

That first shot is awe inspiring; yep, like something out of Starwars!

I have to agree with MrB. Good to see the fountains and garden restored, it's come along since I went there in the late 90's.

I really like 3 & 4 from the colour set. Not really feeling the mono versions. (The pinkish colour of the concrete showing through adds something).

The result is, I believe, more interesting and dynamic looking lighting than could be achieved either in shade or with only the sun!
I agree, nicely done! You'd be none the wiser that flash was used here, but it makes a massive difference.

I preferred the Tamron; the WR Pentax I had had quite a lot of purple fringing wide open (not an issue for macro but I planned on using it for portraits as well). Despite being plastic I thought the Tamron felt more solid and tightly put together as well.
