That's the Mk1 lens. There's a review of the better Mk 2
on a K-5 at Photozone.de link

I think yours is the same as a Mk 2
The MkII was definitely superior on anything beyond istD series IMHO, I've had both.

Hi Wayne, the following will work with SDM

Tamrom-F AF1.4X Pz-AF MC4, Teleplus (Kenko) Pz-AF 1.5x SHQ, Pz-AF 1.7x SHQ, also the Pentax 1.7 converter (Pricey!) Beware of newer Teleplus converters, they may not work, you'll be looking for s/h I'm afraid.

Great lens BTW.

Regards,

John

I have to say the DA 70mm would have to be absolutely incredible for me to want one.
It's a stunner, even wide open at f/2.4, very uniform across the frame, very sharp and lovely OoF rendering.......oh and it's very small, very very small great for candid portraits.

I think some of the DA ltds can be used, but are not optimised for film with the quality dropping off towards the edge of the frame. Although the 70mm doesn't look too bad, and you'd be OK with the subject roughly central, and the background deliberately thrown out of focus. The new DA 35mm is a different matter as it's so clearly based on the FA 35mm, whereas the DA ltds are new designs with no precursor from the days of film.
AFAIK, the DA-40 Ltd is virtually the same as the 'M' 40 and the DA-70 works reasonably well on FF.

No it was on here!...I sold mine last year, couldn't really get away with it on the DA*300...
Hi Ken, did it not play well with the DA*300? I keep considering buying one, but they do fetch a good price.

TIA,

Will write to Sigma Corp Japan today and see if they have stock of 100-300 F4
I wrote to them in the early '90s regarding the 300/4 APO Tele Macro and 70-210/2.8 APO, I got a reply back stating that if Pentax increased it's market share they would consider making these lenses in Pentax fit. Shortly after Pentax released the MZ-5 and it was awarded European Camera of the year, followed by MZ-5n the next year's winner

I still have the letter from Sigma somewhere.........and a Sigma 300/4 APO that I bought from Mifsuds.
