I think the 55mm f1.4 needs to be looked at as a replacement in digital terms for an 85mm f1.4 portrait lens. These were never cheap, and in this context the price looks about right.

Does this mean that all the prices are going to go up? So as for a lens that would normally cost us £299.00 would cost with the buy out now cost us £399. To make the 100 billion yen????? Would not like to see that.

FA-31mm Ltd is the first, but I haven't the funds and the other is made by Tamron, but not in Pentax fitting at present.
I have no intention of buying a K-5 at the moment.
