I was in the same position as "Petel" with my K5 + 18-135. Taking hi speed pictures and you could see the wall of water coming towards me. When I got home I rinsed it all under the tap then dried it with a towel and left it out. No problem.

Take your memory card from the Kx and take a jpeg picture with it. then upload link on this site which will give you the shutter count of the K5.

Re the SD card. I don't recommend you try this but mine was quite stiff to get out until one day when I WAS NOT PAYING ATTENTION and put the SD card in upside down. Then had to pull out the card with a pair on long nosed pliers. It works perfectly and is easier to get out now.

I saw on a forum a tip about using continuous to get a sharper picture on the second shot due to the shutter button already being pushed down. I have tried it and my thoughts were that Lo was too slow and Hi was too fast. So for me 3fps would seem like a good compromise. I also am not sure what 1.6fps is good for.

I have started to take lots of pictures at 7fps and noticed a big improvement in battery life. Also just bought a genuine D-BG4 grip. First one was from fleebay and had plastic pins instead of metal as specified in the picture so sent back. Second one was a genuine one second hand but did not have a holder for the li-ion battery so was sent back. Third one was the brand new Pentax one so at least that will double the capacity.

I am a member of NTS. The kids get my loved one it every year for her Christmas, but last year made a mistake and spent more money by getting her the NT. Good job she can still use it in Scotland. We are just about to pop out to Culzean castle a NTS property just up the road.
