The trouble with being a national treasure (Macca) is that no one tells you when your past it!

All in all it was a very good show and I enjoyed it, looked like all the visiting sportsmen/women did too. I'm not sure I understood all of it, let alone the visitors but it was definitely spectacular. Well done to all the people who made it happen.

Algernon:Seems every reporter has a Berghaus jacket!
It was only a short time ago that the conversation was that all the BBC reporters seemed to be wearing The North Face brand jackets, raising comments about brand endorsement.

I guess the BBC have a new supplier, they are after all, strapped for cash and you can't expect the reporters to buy their own.

Smeggy: btw Bob, your buttercup pic looked very dull here. Overly bright monitor?
Possibly my monitor was a bit bright, but it has been in the gallery for over a year and may have faded it a bit.

The 10-17 is a very versatile lens.

It's not just for fishy pictures.

But it does that well.

I wouldn't part with mine.

I guess I could but I think the cost would be over the top. I'll check.

I think the concept of 'designer' is merely a way of separating more money from people than the article really warrants by persuading the punter it has extra value due to a 'name' being attached.

To be quite honest, I had never heard of Marc Newson before the K01 came out and I'm not overly impressed by the bag! Mind you I quite like the look of the K01, different but without a viewfinder I wouldn't buy one. As for it's designer, I'm not really bothered who he/she is so I'm not interested in parting with more cash for their name on it!

I usually use a rubber ring thingy, from a compression sink waste fitting.

Fits most lens and if it doesn't I can adjust using a Stanly knife (for smaller)or add a rubber washer under it(for larger).

Get mine from B&Q, you don't have to buy the whole fitting as they sell just the ring with a large nut as a spare.
