Hmm. Walking in the Highlands, Dartmoor and Brecon Beacons and it is recommended that you take a map.
Surely not!
(Perhaps a mention of a compass, torch, waterproofs, warm clothing and survival bag, along with the knowledge of how and when to use them might be handy.)

I've often thought that people who are totally un-prepared, then call for rescue should have to pay towards the cost.Hmm. Walking in the Highlands, Dartmoor and Brecon Beacons and it is recommended that you take a map.

I'd suggest a book called "Cairngorm John", an autobiography of one of the founder Cairngorm Mountain Rescue team. He is quite pragmatic ( is that the right word?) about people going up in unsuitable clothing / weather etc.
Getting there! Thanks to you guys
