The 18-135 is my choice when I can't change lenses so it would have to be that. Very versatile lens and it keeps the sand out.

If it was a prime..... hard choice between the DA100 macro and the DA70. I guess as I'm taking the 18-135 I won't have to make that decision!

I thought no2 was super, but then I just look at the photo and decide if I like it! Eyes , hands and all the rest. The picture as a whole works well for me.

The last one is very good too but us blokes often have a problem admiring photos of men! I am just admiring the lighting , exposure, framing and conversion you understand.

Smeggy said,
I would have much preferred it if you'd processed it just like the open door shot.
I like both.
The open door was very true to life, what I would have seen when I was there. Where as this one has a little of that 'painting like' look. I guess if pushed, I think the two styles might work better the other way around, with the painting style used on the open door. The builders equipment fitting the realistic style. Mind you who am I to say builders kit should not be given an arty treatment!

As with all techniques both have their places and it all depends what the photographer is trying to put across in the image.

Nice and compact, light and if the budget is tight, the DA50-200 is a very good buy. I have various other options now but mine still gets used.

I'm guessing you have the 18-55 already and it would add to the range you already have. Good for landscape shots as well!

Seems to be a lot around our way too.

I did know it's poisonous to cattle and horses but this field is used for arable. Perhaps that is the reason there is more about, less farmland used for animals.

A few pictures of some Ragwort in the field at the back of our house. A very common weed but very photogenic. Taken with my recently acquired FA100

I think this is a solider beetle, the colour goes rather well with the yellow!

If you really like the idea of macro, you would be better off with a real macro, like the DFA100, tamron 90 or sigma105. These will give you true 1to1 macro and you will probably notice your picture quality improve. 'More' is not just magnification it also comes in other ways!

The difference in image quality will probably only fuel you into full LBA though, whether you use for macro or anything else. You have been warned.

You can see why it is so rare, it looks awful.

Still a snip for something no one else has!
