The problem I had did not have the dark viewfinder and the aperture was stopping down but only after the mirror had gone up and down again!
It has now gone back to Pentax to be sorted, under warranty and I just wait.

Thank once again.
What am I going to do whilst I wait? Might have to go and buy a film!

Lug doesn't move, although there is an attemp to move it from inside. The DOF preview is not working.
I haven't touched the screen or anything else for that matter. only lens changes.

I seem to be having a problem with my K10D.
In Av, Tv and manual, It seem like the lens is not stopping down. Exposures using F4 are fine, F5 a bit overexposed, F8 over, F16 whiteout! This happens on my 16-45, 50-200, 50 1.7a and a sigma 28-80 is the same with the ‘a’ set on the lens. Viewfinder says all should be ok but …. The sigma gives correct exposures when the aperture ring is used, not really surprising but the camera is obviously getting f stop information from the lens ok.
The really strange thing is that the exposures seem ok in green mode!
I wondered if I have inadvertently operated some setting that will do this or do I need to take it to the camera shop for repair?

I looked at the photographic rucksacks availible and decided against them. Too expensive and too restrictive. You can't get anything else in much. Damp waterproofs in with the lenses!
You can put the gear in the rucksack or wear them on the outside attached to the hip belt or shoulder straps. Easy access on the move or safely in the dry in the rucksac. Separate drybags keeps the gear dry and dust free and lots of rucksacks have suitable attachment points for tripods and the like

They said the shutter had been dismantled and adjusted but they hadn't fixed the problem of the lens not stopping down. Do they test cameras after repair?
