You really need a reasonable size of silica gel bag. It also depends how well sealed your bag, case is. I find sealed boxes don't need the silica changed very often but a normal camera bag will need the silica bag changing in a week or so if left unopened, more often if the bag is opened often.

I dry out my silica gel bags by putting them on the top of the hot water tank(where the insulation is thin and the hot water pipe comes out). They change colour when they are dry so I know this works. I usually leave them for a week or so and then swap them for the bags in the camera bags, cases or whatever.

Tried the oven but it's too easy to over cook!

That does not sound good. Something is rubbing in there that shouldn't.

I'd take it back and get it replaced!

I also changed mine from the non to WR (Only because of a good deal) and have not noticed any difference in the focusing. The focus ring is smaller on the WR but not a problem for me.

You loose the aperture ring on the WR so not so useful for the film cameras. The feel of the lens is more solid but I was happy with the feel of the non-WR! The WR is a little slimmer but I notice it is also 5g lighter as well.

Not a lot in it really.

Think it's worth thinking carefully of how you are going to use the lens.

The DA300 is a very good lens and will give better results when focused properly on the subject but a prime may not be best for fast moving subjects at variable distances. A zoom allows you to find your subject and then move in. It also gives you everything from 55 to 300. The other advantage of the zoom is that it is lighter and much easier to move around with.

Having said that I have both and if I part with one it would probably be the zoom, mainly because the results from the DA300 are so good, when I want that reach. I have other options up to 200mm that are even more portable and water resistant, DA50-200 WR. Those things are important to me for my use but your use is the important thing in your choice.

Sorry but to me none of them look sharp.
A seems soft. B seems to be well out of focus, could be camera shake. C is soft and D is softer still. Both C 7 D could be due to camera shake as well.

Tamron 70-220 F4 lens.

This is has an M42 Adaptamatic mount. Good condition, optics clear, mechanicals all working. A very well built lens. Unusually it has a tripod mount built in. Comes with original caps and case.

I am selling for a friend, was his late brother-in-laws.
Looking on ebay they seem to be priced anywhere from £25 to £117! So I will ask £25 + postage. Collection from Newbury free, of course.

Very nice!

I have always liked black cats but they are a pain to photograph!
