No problems with my K-3, but I don't have it gripped. It would be interesting to know if anyone else has experienced issues when a grip is attached and also if the issues persist without the grip.

These are really good, fantastic results from what is a consumer zoom lens. The lighting is also great, very even.

The 28mm F3.5 seems to have done well here Stuey, the shots taken with that one look good.

I also like the Road Run images, especially the 'Lyons Tea' one.

Lovely shots Neil, there are varieties here I have not seen in my neck of the woods (Sheffield) despite there being plenty of water and nature reserves near to where I live.

Hi Mike, welcome to the site and to the world of Pentax in general! I bought my K-3 approx. 6 months ago and have been absolutely delighted with it. I also have a K-5IIs, which is another superb camera, but the K-3 is better. I can't offer any opinions on the 18-270 as I have never owned or used one, but what I have found since owning the K-3 is that it benefits from quality glass to a level that I've not seen with any of my other cameras. It partners with the DA*50-135 superbly and I would echo what Matt said about this being a great lens for peformances. You can pick up an excellent / mint used one for about £500, which is the route that I took and IMHO it is well worth saving up for this lens to partner with the K-3.

Hope you get what you want / need.

Best wishes
David

I would echo Matty's evaluation of the Pentax DA 17-70, I don't know why I agreed to sell it, because it is a brilliant everyday lens with superb IQ.

I still have the Sigma 17-70, but there is something about the Pentax Da 17-70 that is special. It is far better than the Sigma at the long end of the zoom, and not far behind at the short end. Allied to that it has the typical Pentax colours and contrast. All in all, a great lens.

Apologies to you all for not saying 'thanks' for the comments on this thread, I've been away the past few days and not spent much time on the site.

Anyway, 'thanks' to you all for your comments!
