Putting the quality issue aside I tend to post images in the 'Your Photos' section. I haven't quite figured out the benefits of the gallery. Although, I must admit, I don't look there very often
I've never really understood why a lot of members don't look in the Gallery. After all, we are photographers and wouldn't the Gallery be a focal point for looking at images posted by our peers? Despite my comments about a lack of quality, there are some gems that appear in there from time to time, but lately the number of views has been diminishing. Also, I was surprised to see one of my images posted fairly recently, that I considered to be not one of my best, in fact just a 'snapshot', had attracted 107 views, when some of my better work was way behind this. Does this indicate a lack of critical appraisal of Gallery images?

I want to be pushed hard to improve myself and I don't feel that the site is doing this lately.

David

I daren't do that Nigel, I don't know what might follow!

Do you think things have been a bit tame lately?

Never had any problems with my K-5IIs, gripped or gripless. A modern camera is essentially a computer and all manner of things could cause a lock-up though. The first thing I would try is to thoroughly clean the contacts on both lens and camera body with a small amount of isopropyl alcohol or similar. If problems persist, a factor re-set followed by firmware update would be my next port of call. Finally, try a different battery. If all that fails, a warranty repair may be the only answer.

..... on the Forum and the site in general?

Is it my imagination or have things gone downhill a bit lately? Very little quality in the Gallery, very little interaction and controversy on Forum threads. I find it harder and harder to get enthused about the site, is it just me?

Opinions please!

Some lovely shots there Jim, all are high quality but the last two in particular catch my eye.

First shot with mine:

K-5IIs, DA*300 + HD 1.4 Converter, this was shot from approx. 30 feet away, ISO 400, Shutter 1/100, hand-held. First impressions are great, impact on IQ is negligible, I can't wait to try this with the 100mm F2.8 macro lens.

Excellent again Simon, that lens is very good indeed, it almost approaches DA*300 quality!

The second one has to be my favourite, but the fourth runs it close.

Looking good as always Alan, the first deer shot is the winner for me. The TC looks to have great IQ, looking forward to mine arriving!
