Are you saying the mirror slap issue has broken your K-3?

if so return it and get a replacement.

From my first post on the issue:

I was out yesterday with the K3, grip and 100-300mm Ex Sigma. Quite early on whilst in single shot mode it burst into full speed just after taking a shot. I switched it off, to no effect and then immediately started to undo the grip with the intention of removing the camera battery.

The camera was in full high speed mode shooting like there's no tomorrow. As soon as I got the grip released it stopped! I re-attached the grip and switched back on. It behaved itself for the rest of the days shooting.

So just not sure if it's a bug with the grip attached or what?

Now I know it's the mirror slap issue.

No, My Ricoh CX 5 (£60.00) and K100D (£60.00 s/h) perform faultlessly week after week. So far...

Must be very frustrating for early adopters after all that fuss with sensor stains on early K5s.
Best wishes,

Andrew

No problems with my K-3, but I don't have it gripped. It would be interesting to know if anyone else has experienced issues when a grip is attached and also if the issues persist without the grip.

My 5ii freezes quite often with the (3rd party) grip attached; even more often if I've got the 150-500 on too.

So far the K5IIs has worked with the (Pentax) grip attached. Of course now I've said that I can expect all sorts of problems
