Hopefully Amin won't mind me posting one of my images to illustrate a point, rather than a modification of his own...

Amin, it's a nice try, but I think it would have been better taken a bit earlier in the evening when there was more light in the sky. That would have put a bit of colour into all the areas that are black in your shot, helping with the contrast.

I took one of the Millenium Bridge last year, and although I'm not 100% happy with the colour of the sky (low cloud reflecting the street lights etc), at least it illustrates what I mean.

If you shot yours in RAW, have a play with the white balance and see if that brings out any detail in the sky or river (I have no idea what the WB ended up at for my shot, it's certainly not natural), you never know...

Well done Alan and of course best wishes for a full and speedy recovery.

Thanks for resurrecting this one Howard!

I wish they were nearer to me over in Essex, we see them very occasionally, but nothing like the numbers west of London and through to Wales.

Well, to be fair, it's not about grammar, it was more of an apparent 180 degree shift in opinion, then back again when you agreed with Mike.

I'm sure you were actually agreeing with the third paragraph of John's post, but it was just unfortunate that it could be taken out of context.

I suppose both points of view are valid anyway - the technology may be 'out of date' compared to current products, but they're still perfectly capable of taking decent shots, so not 'out of date' in that respect.

Not something I tend to worry about too often, to be honest.

I think RR was refering to you saying "One just has to face up to the fact whatever you buy will be out of date in 12 months time", then John replying "IMHO an out of date camera is only one that can't be used any more, for example, if the film type is no longer available", and then your reply to that of "I agree entirely", which does seem to contradict your first statement.

I think the Samsung one has been rigged to do DNG only. But Pentax users can shoot in DNG or use the free Adobe DNG converter to turn your PEF into DNG!
True, just a bit of a pain if you've got 10,000 PEFs!

There are few different ones on ebay at the moment, the ones from China don't look anywhere near as sturdy as my BPM ones, but they'd probably do the job. Just search for Pentax bellows.

Does it handle PEFs, or is it just DNG only?

I have just had a look Ken, nothing yet, but I've installed the plug-in which makes searching a doddle. Thanks for that!
