Visited there on sunday. Good for 4-5 hours as a first timer. All images taken with K-50 and 18-55DAL WR

Inspired by a visit to the National Space Centre, Leicester, yesterday. Really liked the 'Soyuz' graphics and typeface and thought i'd play around with it. "Soyuz" apparently translates as "Union".

Two K-S2s are a lot more expensive and she might not take to it or use all the features on that. For the same money as a second K-S2 you could get the K-50 + 18-135WR..both suitable for outdoor walking and it doesn't matter if you get them wet.

I've just got the K-50 having had the K-x and it is an excellent camera...even a complete novice couldn't fail to take well exposed , focused shots...this will encourage further use in my view. Value for money as well...its unbeatable.

That's my take on it anyway!

Sounds great. We had the mass flypast at Fairford...spits plus hurricanes, Me109 and Buchon, not forgetting the sole surviving flying Blenheim. BUT the only problem photographically is that if its anything like Fairford they will be split into smaller flights of 3-4 aircraft...very difficult to get all in the same frame without each aircraft being much more than a speck...hope i'm wrong!

Will be a fantastic spectacle regardless for aviation enthusiasts.

Nice anectdote. I've just looked at the link briefly...he does seem to have been highly regarded and well liked. Thanks for that. When i've got more time later today i'll have a proper look at some of his work.

My initial reaction is that the offer is a very good one...Toshiba do make very good quality products overall.
The low price might possibly be a consequence of the accounting scandal that was revealed earlier this year...about £780M of irregularities...basically inflating sales incomes etc whilst downplaying losses. Maybe they are just selling off stock to get cash in.

The other main possibility is that generally these large capacity SD cards are now being priced more reasonably. They have until recently been extortionately priced...some still are, yet must only cost a few pence more to manufacture compared to lower capacity cards. You can only get away with 'ripping people off' for so long.

Whilst it is always interesting to see the latest sales figures, I'd rather see either an overall Global set of figures or EU specific . Japanese data on its own is very misleading as their consumer market is totally unlike either the US or European markets. Gimmicky, ultra small and lightweight have far more appeal over there than in most of the rest of the world. Also financial accounting scandals have had a major impact on some of their best known brands.

As for Sony, i believe they are now going to be concentrating on their sensors rather than cameras per se as these are much more profitable for them.

I really like those Derek...they remind me of the sort of images i would expect to see in an online 'How To Hypnotize' tutorial.

Out of interest, what was your starting point for these images?

Love the orange Capri in No.1and you're right about that tree...it's weird. Half looks as though it will uproot and chase the cars in a kinda 'Hammer Horror' sort of way.
