Very nice shots. I particularly like the last one with the fist covering the moon.

Nice shots those Nigel and what a very photogenic piece of coastline. One region I've always intended to visit but never quite made it.

Excellent pricing to be sure. I'm assuming that there will be a cascade effect down the product line.

As there seems to be plenty of interest on the naming of this new hopefully iconic camera, i'd like to suggest that Ricoh should invite Pentax users to submit their suggestions...possibly with a brief reason for their choice and possibly suggest a naming path to follow for future derivatives/new FF models.

They could set up a webpage somewhere for this purpose. The 1st prize could be one of the first FF cameras with perhaps one or two runner up prizes of a discount voucher for 20-25% off one.

Very cheap marketing/PR and would generate loads of interest ahead of the launch and give Pentax users a feeling that they were involved and their views were being listened too.

As with the actual camera itself I suspect the K-1 moniker has been 'floated' to judge reaction from Pentax users...the name is the easiest thing to change ...right up until the first etchings take place.

My thought was that a 'logical' choice might have been KF-1 if a bit boring..definitely NOT FK-1.

Apologies if this has appeared here already but photorumors site has just revealed that new FF will be called K-1. Link Here.

They have also announced some decent offers/reductions on K-3 and K-3II in the USA, so hopefully they will also appear over here soon.

cheers

Very unimpressed by this 'promotion'...would be ok if could be used next time lens prices drop to more reasonable level but at the moment the 'Yo-Yo' (as in 'Yo-Yo pricing') is at the highest part of its travel.

+1

It was probably an 'accidental' release to gauge reaction from potential customers before they start cutting
metal in earnest. Ricoh have a lot riding on this model...they can't afford for it to flop.

Works for me.
