I really like those Derek...they remind me of the sort of images i would expect to see in an online 'How To Hypnotize' tutorial.

Out of interest, what was your starting point for these images?

Cheers Karlo, here is how i did these,

1, open any image in ps.
2, go to filter > pixelate > mezzotint, choose medium lines
3, go to filter > Blur > radial blur, amount=100, method = zoom, quality = best
4, repeat step 3 around four or five times.
5, duplicate layer
6, select original layer (background) go to filter > distort > twirl and positive angle of your choice try somewhere between 80-360 (mess around a bit see what it looks like)
7, select duplicate layer, filter > distort > twirl and negative angle of what ever you did on the original layer
8, blending options, choose lighten, or mess around here too as these blending options give a varied result.

That's about it, if anything isn't clear just let me know, and post up a sample of how you got on, start your own thread or in this one

Cheers guys. The 1st and 2nd are my favs with the 1st just edging it. The 3rd one is that process done on the 2nd image. So lots of scope for messing around.

Love these! Some digital art at its best IMO; and thanks too for the 'how to' guide (not that I have time to have a go at present!)

Thanks for the info Derek...No.2 for me. I don't have PS but will try and find equivalent effects in the package I have given your very good instructions...cheers for that.

However, Adobe make it and it IS the Best App in the World!!!!

Lovely creativity Derek ....I like the deep blues and symmetries. They feel kind of like stained glass windows.

As I've been suffering from a bad back, after doing some weeding in the garden, your thread inspired me to have a try at FS some flowers to death as well!
They didn't turn out anything like yours, but I'm still pleased with the results anyway!
The original images were of a Sunflower, a Lily Pad, a Daisy and a Passion Flower respectively
Here's the best result for each, from the session:-

At least there's no pretence at an accurate representation of a flower here - really like these as well!
