Quite right. Good 8GB or 16 GB cards hold several hundred RAW files and many more JPEGs. I use 4GB or 8GB with my Kx and 16 GB with my K30 for RAW. It's a good idea to put a full card into a case that has a sticky label on it so that you can write some details as to what the card holds.Lancer - as Vic says, make sure you get a fast card. Could DNG have the added benefit in that you wouldn't need the specific camera RAW to use programmes such as Lightroom? For example the K5 is not supported in LR3 but DNG is.

Staples will print large format on the premises. I have had printed A1 posters by them which is only 841 mm tall but they use paper rolls that should be able to do 1000mm

Having used PSE, PS5 & LR4 I would pick LR4 for photos every time for RAW. You do need to revert to PS for graphics and removing dust and objects as LR has a basic editor for those functions. If you shoot JPEG then PSE is a great option and also enables you to add graphic and text. PS is great for the ultimate in image manipulation but is not good for cataloging as Bridge is in my view quite basic.

I use Ni-MH AA's mostly but they certainly do not like the cold. I am not aware of any other cameras that gives the options for batteries that Pentax give. A real plus point in Pentax's favour.

I have K-x, *ist DL & K30 bodies. The *ist DL was great but K-x offered more. More pixels & features. The K-x is okay but has a tendancy to clip ther highlights. By comparisonon the upgrade to the K30 is a big leap. The 100% image in the viewfinder is a big plus and the overall picture quality makes this upgrade so much more worthwhlie. The only thing I feel is a negative with the K30 is the build quality which I feel is very plasticy.
