You are right the difference is really marked

I have a Kx and have upgraded to the K30. I'm very pleased. The K30 has a better dynamic range and is much better with getting highlight details than my Kx. It also has a lot more features and the menus are much more intuative. The 100% view in the viewfinder is a big improvement.

My only negative would be it doen't feel quite as solid

I would be worried that Blu Tac might damage the Anti Reflection coating on the eye peice

I'm not a lover of SLR's for video. Whilst my pentax Kx & K30 will shoot video, handling, playback adaptability are not as good as the £180 Panasonic HD 1080 I bought for my daughter. The flexibility of an angled screen on the video camera just gives so much more.

I agree. The 60-250 is a great lens. I use it for local footie matches and it is so much betteer that any other lens I have used.

I've a LG 23"HD screen that I have calibrated with a Spyder 2. Cheap brand at lowish price that came with the PC but I am very pleased. Colour calibration can make a big differnce

Have a look a Simply Calendars. A small doctor's surgery that has calendar producing software. Print your self and then have them bound.

I have Lightroom, Elements and Photoshop CS5.

For Jpeg, Elements is very good, and the catalogue is very easy to use.

For RAW Lightroom is my choice and the one I use at present. There are a few occasions when you need to use Photoshop, for example putting a layered picture together. Lightroom 4 is now very good for printing but you cannot do some of the more fancy stuff you can do with photoshop elements or CS 5/6.

Photoshop is best for finer adjustments in JPEG or Raw. It comes with Bridge, a sort of catalogue, but it just isn't as good as Elements or Lightroom for cataloging your photos.

Why do you require more depth of field? At 18 mm and f8 to f22 your depth of field is going to be pretty good. Rememeber that you shouldn't focus at the most distant object to get the maximum depth of field. Experiment with focusing on an object that is closer, say 10 metres away and see what the result is with various apertures. You can use a slower speed at 18 mm and get reasonable results but a tripod is always going to give best reults.
