I know it is about the image quality but the styling is just awful. Not what we expect from Pentax who in recent times have some cutting edge styling. Is this just a pre-production version?

This isn't a lens that I would rush out to buy. My Sigma 18-125 covers practically all of the range and has a similar speed. I might consider it if image quality turns out to be an improvement

I have a Sigma 18 - 125 which is okay and was a superzoom in its time. It's a great general purpose lens and does better up close than I thought it would.

I saw the 60-250 in Park Cameras and became intersted. F4 thoughout its range, looks and feels so well made. After saving up I bought it and have never been disapointed. The focusing is faster and quieter than anything I've had before. It's great for sport especially with a monopod to take some of the weight. I think the image quality is good. It's just a bit short for wildlife but the new teleconvertor will make it 84 - 350 F 5.6 which would give a lot of flexibility.

I now want a quality "standard zoom" to replace the sigma. The 17 -70 F4 looks good but many people do't seem to rate it.

The Amazon Basics camera bag is awsome for the money. Plus it is less likely to get nicked. There are several in the range.

I have 2 Velbon Sherpas with PH-157Q plus 4 quick release shoes for changing between cameras, lenses, video and telescope.

I wanted the quick release plus a good height for using the telescope. Both have been reliable. The latest gets down much lower but has more plastic bits in it.

I upgraded from the Kr to the K30.

I love the viewfinder as it covers the whole frame. You don't get any extra bits that you miss in the viewfinder of the Kr. I also find that the K30 is much better at capturing the highlights.

I think it depends on what camera you have. If it is one of the later cameras that uses DNG as the raw file I would always save that. With the RAW PEF I always saved the PEF + jpeg.

One great advantage of DNG is that Adobe Camera RAW will open the file and does not need to be kept up to date for more recent cameras. This is important if you are using earlier editions of Photoshop.

As well as saving a back up on my portable hard drive of the RAW file I export a jpeg to my Samsung Tablet's micro SD card using lightroom to reduce the longest edge to about the resolution of the tablet.

Must be better than the third party one that I bought which is pretty rubbishy. Most of the functions don't work!!!

Would make my 60-250 f4 a 84-400 f5.6. If the auto focus works it would be great

I have the 60-250 F4 and also use it for sport. I have seen it said that it is slow focusing, but I have never had a problem. The image quality is fantastic as you can see from the images.
