To double the image size you can;
* Halve the distance that you take the picture at
* Double the focal length of the lens
* Quadruple the number of pixels the sensor has for any given size of sensor and then crop.
The depth of field does not change for a given lens, with a given aperture. However beacuse you need a shorter focal length to fill the frame, with a smaller sensor, you get a bigger depth of field unless you open the aperture up.

Now it is a different story. The camera bodies are probably better pound for pound than any of the other manufacturers and the lens range and quality is good enough to keep most enthusiasts happy.
Would a FF see the Pros switching to Pentax? Is there a big enough market? I would like to see Pentax continue to develop and excel in their range of lenses and APS-C sensor cameras

Another advantage of the smaller sensor is more DOF, I've found when using the Q you can shoot a F2.8 and get plenty of DOF for landscapes and you get fast enough shutter speed to avoid have using a tripod.
Obviously this is a disadvantage for portrait photographers.
I still impressed with the amount of detail you get from the Qs small sensor.
One of the only reasons I would want a FF camera is to make better use of my 50/1.2 @ 1.2
I love that a 300 mm is efectively a 450mm so effectivly longer length windlife photography has become more affordable. However I'm having to result to lightroom/photoshop much more to improve portraits.

I've had basic percripsion glasses ordered off the net for ~£10.
If you get something like these with no fancy coatings or variable focal lengths they should be fone for use in photograhy. (Not the most elegant frames, but who see's that past the camera?)
PS Before you ask - I don't work for Pentax or specsavers who use pentax lenses

Whilst photochromic lenses have improved a lot in recent years they do rely on UV to activate them. As a result they go darkest in high UV situations. They are also temprature dependant and darken less in hot tempratures. This makes them less suitable for travelling to hot countries.

I much prefer AA batteries. My Kx & *ist took them and my flash also uses AAs. One charger to take on holiday and in an emergency you can always put some standard bateries in.

As a mater of interest lightroom updates bring in new cameras but when Adobe bring in a new version they stop upgrading the older one. This forces you to buy the latest version when you get a new camera if it is not covered by an update. This also applies to ACR for photoshop. Does shooting DNG get around this problem or is DNG camera specific?
