Ok Martin, you threw the gauntlet down and I just packed up my K20 to send it off to check the vertical banding problem

Just put batteries in my trusty *istD and don't see anything on the screen. I got AF once but that's it. I'm charging another set of batteries but it looks like the shots from last Friday must do...

Without a camera And that happens exactly when I'm supposed to make my best shot ever.
Well, at least I have a good excuse

I'll probably submit tomorrow.

Sad greetings,
Prieni

Same as Kris, I also use Av (most of the time) and manual (rarely), but I have a K20D.

Don't know, to be honest. I have been an Epson man for many years and as I was satisfied with the results and durability of prints I went for Epson again.

I could imagine, though, that there is not much between the top quality printers of Epson, HP and Canon.

If you look at SLR's in magazines (camera specific or not) then you get the impression that only Canon and Nikon cut the mustard. We know different, don't we?

If you are happy with your prints then the HP printer is fine...

The competition has been closed, judging has been finished.
Now I can sit back, relax... oh no, got to go to work now...

Ahhh, what a nice bird this was. I wish I could have seen her fly. Too late now...

Absolutely splendid, why don't you upload it in the fortnightly competition, or don't you do that so to give us a chance
Taken one day before this fortnightly competition opened so cannot enter it. But thanks for the vote of confidence
That was the second thing I looked at, the date! And exactly for that reason, the competition.
It's a great shot, lovely light on the grass, great that one can see the structure of the wood in the fence. I would have liked to see a slightly greater DOF, especially the near side of the fence on the right could have been a bit sharper.

OK, fairly easy job than.
As easy as rolling the dice.

You're not the only one developing cunning plans.
BTW: Your cunning plan drove me out yesterday evening and trying to make "the best shot ever". I wouldn't say that it was a complete success but it wasn't wasted either.

Reading through this thread I'm feeling a bit deprived as I only have two cards, both 4 GByte SanDisk Ultra II.
On the plus side, neither failed me so far (about a year now).

Thanks for your good wishes, Martin. I think it's not as difficult as you make it out. Abstract always is an even more subjective sujet than other topics might be, so there is no right or wrong. This means I cannot make it right, but I cannot make it wrong, either.
