So to be clear - it's your best shot within the 14 days?
This time we really should push it in the comments topic as well as it truly is a wide open subject.
Mystic Mike predicts birds, many birds as they seem a remarkably popular subject.

Yep, anything goes, as long as it is shot in the next two weeks.
Exif data must be intact to prove !! And needles to say, I will be very nit-picking.
So I'll better see No wonky horizons, sensor grud or other "mistakes".

I wouldn't expect too many entries, Martin. Certainly, we are all improving continuously. But how likely is it to make the "best shot ever" within the next fortnight? (And also realise that this is the best shot ever!)
I see a cunning plan here: Martin wants this to be our final fortnightly competition, we are supposed to take our best shot ever. After that we have to stop photography (otherwise we would improve and run the risk of making an even better shot. Then we would be disqualified from this competition, loosing our face!)
This must be in the top ten of all time scams! It's in one league with the fake of the moon landings, the false death of Elvis and the secrecy around the Roswell landing. Outrageous!

Good effort by Martin to try and drum up more entries this round. I tried to make my theme open – but best shot in a fortnight’s shooting is surely a good incentive. However, maybe it would help if this was ‘advertised’ further. Prieni – how about you make some mention of what’s going on here in your judge’s comments in the current weekly competition? Who knows – this might entice some weekly regulars over here.
On the downside, Martin might need warning about a probable shortage of early entries – that is if he’s not looking at this thread (I avoid looking at comments when judging as per the old informal rule, although I’m not sure that this applies anymore). If the theme is best shot in the fortnight then I guess the entries will be slow to appear, as people will hold off posting a shot they like early in case they surpass it before the deadline! And if Prieni's right about us improving all the time - then the shots we'll be taking in 13 days will be better than those taken today!

Well, I take the liberty to look now and then, just to check in general.
From the moment on, you start to discuss certain entries you can rest assure. It won't influence my opinion, and I certainly won't comment on it.
Now...., As you all have figured out by now,the setting of this rounds theme is a attempt to draw more attention to this competition format. Personally I am not that afraid, about a sudden avalanche of entries in the last days. If you just check out the last 11 rounds,I am backed-up in this statement.( I do hope, I am proven wrong :wink
And as a final note;
When I say best shot ever, of course this should be seen in an effort to come up with the best possible picture, you can produce given the subject you choose for this round. Landscapes, wildlife, monochrome, portraits, macro, documentary etc....you name it. Just give it your best shot. I have a broad field of interest, and just like to see entries splashing off the screen.

Martin: Is it not a scam at all:
Does it mean they really landed on the moon in a tin can that had less computing power than a *istD:
I'm sure about Elvis, though

I agree, Actually.....I met the bloke , a week ago when I had at pleasant stay at The Heartbreak Hotel. He was taking pictures, using an old spotmatic, while singing something like; I did it my way.I'm sure about Elvis, though
Prieni
Which is strange, because I had to show him a link to this forum, and the competition section in particular. He now understands "His Way", isn't always the best route to success. He left the building, humming something like, it's now or never........or something amongst those lines.
Happy snapping,
Martin.

Ok Martin, you threw the gauntlet down and I just packed up my K20 to send it off to check the vertical banding problem
Just put batteries in my trusty *istD and don't see anything on the screen. I got AF once but that's it. I'm charging another set of batteries but it looks like the shots from last Friday must do...
Without a camera And that happens exactly when I'm supposed to make my best shot ever.
Well, at least I have a good excuse
I'll probably submit tomorrow.
Sad greetings,
Prieni

To bad, Ralf. You can always drive over to my place. I happily lend you my K10D. As I don't need it, this round.
But......somehow I think you are able to squeeze a great shot out of a camera phone, if you need to.
Martin.
