You should check out the distance markings on the K15. There are two different types. Have a read here.

Now the nights are drawing in, (well in the northern latitudes where I happen live) and it won't be too long before the season of horizontal driving sleet is upon us, I thought it might be a good idea to stock up on some interesting reading material. Photography related of course. Rather than surf the web, sometimes I do like to curl up with a tipple of something warming and have a good read.

Anyone got any good recommendations ? Technical, artistic, or perhaps something that has given you some photographic inspiration ?

Just to get the ball rolling I can say I recently picked up a copy of "Asahi Pentax and Pentax SLR 35mm cameras 1952-1989" by Danilo Cecchi. Pretty much essential for anyone interested in collecting Pentax gear I would say. Lots of photos and packed with interesting information.

All book tips, (or indeed appropriate tipple tips) gratefully received.

The M9 is just a rich mans toy. Personally I'm waiting for Pentax to produce a retro camera for the masses. The Digital Spotmatic.

Keep your eyes open at local car boot sales is my advice. I can't say I have found any Pentax kit yet, but I am sure it is out there.

The original Pentax limited's, 31mm, 43mm, and 77mm were arguably three of the finest primes ever produced. Could there be a business case for Pentax to reintroduce them in another manufactures mount ? If available would the full frame Canon or Nikon users of this world buy them ?

Another thing I have been pondering over. With the "joint venture" between Tokina and Pentax I would have expected to have seen the Tokina 11-16mm available to us Pentax users, but there don't seem to be any plans to introduce it. Does anyone understand the terms of the joint venture ? The 11-16 gets a lot of great reviews and personally I would like to own a Pentax version.
