Anyone ever owned a Pentax SMC-A 200mm f/4, and have any opinions about it ? (Not the expensive macro lens.)
Seen a nice clean looking second hand one which I plan to check out later this week.
Cheers,
/Ian

rediscovered SLR photography after a number of years and is soon going to "complement"
a much loved Super A based system, with a K10D.
Looking for a good general guide that is not too technical,
but full of tips and tricks about how to obtain the best results from a DSLR.
Regards,
/Ian

Looking through the forum I have sometimes read that manual SMC-A lenses
are fully compatible with pentax DSLR cameras, and that older SMC-M and K lenses
function, but with restrictions. I'm going to buy a K10D when it is released
and I was wondering what are the restrictions when using older lenses on a DSLR ?
Many thanks in advance,
/Ian.

Been on the lookout for a second hand Pentax A 400mm f5.6 lens since the summer, but they seem to be quite thin on the ground. Only ever seen one on ebay, but the seller in the USA would not post internationally. (A problem as I live in Sweden.)
Does anyone know of a good condition one for sale on the www ?
Perhaps you can point me in the right direction.
If I can't find one what other manual focus lens alternatives are there ?
Both the older Pentax K and M versions of the lens also seem to be rare.
Sigma made a 400mm f5.6 manual lens, but have been advised it was not that good.
Thanks in advance,
/Ian

I am soon going make the move to digital and purchase a K10D.
I was wondering if I will still be able to use my old auto bellows A and
100mm f.4 lens on the K10D? I was mainly thinking about the double
cable release. Does the K10D have a socket for this ?
Best regards,
/Ian

If its clear tonight I will try and take some photo's of the lunar eclipse
(22:44 - 23:58 GMT)
Any tips from those out there who have some experience of doing this before.
I will be using my trusty old Super A, A400mm f/5.6, tripod and cable release.
Any particular film recomendations or exposure guides ?
Here's hoping there are no cloulds tonight over Stockholm (outlook not promising)
Cheers,
/Ian
