Thank you for the comments, I forgot to say all taken on the KP with 28-105mm D-FA WR zoom at 28mm and both ISO 400 and 200, mainly f8.

Cold for this part of the world this morning at 11:30, following pics are more or less SOOC, including flare.
Any critique welcome especially helpful ones, I have only cropped one, others could probably benefit from some too.

Thank you all for the help, I am going with it being an Acer as a neighbour who's a keen gardener reckons it's one and I'm not going to contradict her! Thanks for the correct technical name John.

The castle was built before 1130 in a Motte and Bailey style and had it's first siege in 1136. 200 knights and archers were sent by King Stephen to take it from Baldwin de Redvers who had rebelled against him.

There are few remains of Plympton Castle and on a grey day with drizzle the sky does not make a good picture, but here it is, K1 mkii 28-105mm;

Pathway leading towards the castle, I belive it's an ancient one called "Pathways" but local yobs have destroyed the signs/info boards.

This is by the River Yealm estuary and along to Steer Point, near Brixton South Hams, Devon. A nice short walk and our route also included old lanes that unbelievably the odd car still manages to drive. I mean to go back and take a flash for a picture of an old tree growing/competing on a wall adjacent to an old narrow rail bridge, all in shadows but the tree is centuries old. Another greyish day and these shots on the K1 mkii 28-105mm no tripod no filters.

The remains of a bridge that crossed over towards Kitley House, which has now stopped public access to the path on the other side, access there from Yealmpton, but I believe passes are available under certain conditions.

Snapped these two on the KP & DA* 300 with 1.4 converter, heavily cropped especially the Egret as he was hiding in a tree behind branches and kept moving as I did LOL. May they brighten up your day!
