Plympton and Plympton St Maurice.

The castle was built before 1130 in a Motte and Bailey style and had it's first siege in 1136. 200 knights and archers were sent by King Stephen to take it from Baldwin de Redvers who had rebelled against him.

There are few remains of Plympton Castle and on a grey day with drizzle the sky does not make a good picture, but here it is, K1 mkii 28-105mm;
