I believe this to be Turkey Tail fungus;

Taken approx 2 ft away on a SMC-A 50mm f2 wide open, ISO 200 on the kp SOOC really, removed some haze only. Carried in my pocket and saw this photo opertunity, was actually after birds with my 300mm.
This lens was purchased for £10 (off fleabay) but on arrival had haze/fungus and slow aperture return, got a part refund of £5 and so cleaned up, reassembling cured the aperture return, oh £3 postage

It could be that it can't 'read' the card, hence nothing but normal screen, so either the card/contacts or file is the cause. Try reseating any card in slot 1 a few times to clean it in effect, my update went ok with the DCIM folder still there after formatting in camera FWIW. as another in here had problems and removed the dcim folder. Someone could advise another cleaning method perhaps? :

Very good indeed, I like it, and the pollen too!

All nice shots and my favourite is the first one - moody in black and white.

Rain here again, so to look on the bright side I located these from April last year, taken on the KP with the D-FA 100 macro WR on a HDR setting (which I have used only twice BTW), best viewed with sunglasses

Thank you for the comments peeps. I only noticed the red hue after posting and checking the forum later on the mobile, rushing again!

"The second one is a marvelous 'moonlight' shot. It does look like that filter is producing a colour cast though. "
Thank you David, I am planning to try some in black and white, given free time, as it may add to this theme. Plenty of similar shots to play with, lots of misty and swirly images and wet reflections.

Re. effects can be done in PP, I'm way down on the learning curve to attempt that using Rawtherapee, no more purchasing filters planned.

First shots using a 10 stopper that I acquired as a 'present', well my excuse to get one.

Any helpful comments appreciated, used 2 lens a wide 18mm and then the 24-105 F-DA, also used a grad 4 stop.
Pics almost straight out of camera, cropped one and lightened the other two quickly in Gimp.

Cracking day weather wise, enjoyed it down on the 'beach' by Renney Rocks, high tide too nearly got my feet wet. Hope you enjoy them.

Upgraded from the 12 year old Dell Laptop to a new self built PC and new 24inch monitor, so hopefully will help processing photos more quickly etc.
The laptop is still going strong having been 'updated' over the last few years eg. memory maxed out to 8gb IIRC and an ssd, processor i3 replaced for an i5 too, has served me well, but liking the speed of the new PC and especially a larger screen.
I could use the laptop for travel (what's that these days) but haven't had a battery in it for a decade
