Thanks guys.

The old flash is a Centon FG 30 D which is not TTL, ( came free with some other kit - P30N slr which was bundled with a Slide converter I wanted) I think the flash settings are 'directing' / telling the camera what to do and not the other way around?

The old A lens/camera would be set on the aperture ring 'A' and as I never had one (my then SLR kit was ME super and K1000) my knowledge is poor.

Looking back I think when I tried adjusting the aperture on the KP in 'P'rogram mode it had no response? - I think. But the place was totally dark/black in most places, I was even using Liveview too as that could 'see' better and helped me find my footsteps/way around. Even SWMBO kept close by.
Eerie place, never seen other people around.

Thank you for the comments chaps.
Re. Mike and getting out your tripod, I have a Peak Design travel one (which I'm very pleased with apart from the high price) - there is a quick way of releasing the legs, release all clips at once -2 seconds, shake out the legs - 2 seconds, close clips - 2 secs? and the ball head type has a quick dial lock - simples
David, it's rare to get clear skies down here it's usually rain and cloud, the south west gets more than the rest of England.
Gareth, I read somewhere to not photograph a Full 'flat' moon as no shadow detail would be evident.

BTW Glad the camera has a flip screen/lcd as the moon was quite high in the sky.

PS. Used Focus Peaking on manual focus having zoomed in digitally first, 2 second timer.
PPS Reading my typing I sound as if I'm getting good at this, but I did attach the 1.4 TC halfway through, which is of course totally incompatable - as I realised. Doh.

Nice, I did one Thursday night as well but as it was done with my Sony a9 and 200-600mm I won't post the actual shot but here is a LINK
Snap, I just had a peep at yours but of course my Pentax one is better ! LOL

I sharpened mine up a bit in Rawtherapee by trial and error, clicking on anything going i.e. Sharpen only edges, micro-contrast, and another ? memory problem

Had a play shot on Thursday night just for 10 minutes or so, brilliant sky.
BTW I don't see many Astro shots in here.

K1 mkII, DA* 300, f11, 180th sec, Manual on a tripod. ISO 200.

I like these and my favorite is the last one, the soft colours are nice and not to be too critical but the horizon maybe better straightened? worth a try in PP. Kind regards.

Warning - photo blitz....

I went here on Wednesday to test an old Flash (after checking the trigger voltage) on the KP and 11-18mm DA*. It may not be everyone's cup of tea or to a professional level, but interesting if you google this place, apparently Grade Listed, but not protected from vandals or fenced off, obviously.

Not sure about the graffiti but a few years ago I don't remember it being this prolific. The weeds probably have done more damage, but vandals have been busy pulling out any electrical gear.
There is some mechanical parts left that I think is the Shell hoist?

The flash worked okay'ish, I think LOL. I have used titles to help guide me posting, apologies.
