First time I had one of these calls, I waited and waited and payed the game until the "technician" came on the line, after giving me the web address and the number I said "hold on......... nope the page will not open" he tried telling me several things to try. He got more and more frustrated. I asked him for his IP address so I could ping it to see where the fault lay, which he reluctantly gave me. I pinged it and found it was a proxy server. so I asked him for his puter IP which after 5 mins of more frustration for him he gave. I pinged it and it was somewhere in Mumbai. I said to him thank you I will now forward it to the police fraud squad and the reason the page wouldn't open is my top end security wouldn't open that type of website even if I did type in the address. He hung up rather sharpish.

Second time again I waited to get the tech on the line, then when he started going on about the access i said ok, then partially covered the mouthpiece of the phone and said to thin air "Mike can you let Tim in security know that I am letting someone use my puter and he can then keep the line open while we investigate them" The Tech asked me if this was a business computer?" I said "yes it is chap its microsoft security software department, no about this control you would hoppe to take!" he hung up. never had another phone call from them

The dioptric adjustment, I take is the little slider on the viewfinder?
if thats the case I take it use autofocus on an abject then adjust it so its crystal clear in the viewfinder?

Quote:
Black and white aren't technically colours! You could say that they are the extreme ends of the 'grey' spectrum
1. Black is the absence of colour

Explanation:
When there is no light, everything is black. Test this out by going into a photographic dark room. There are no photons of light. In other words, there are no photons of colours.

2. White is the blending of all colours and is a colour.

Explanation:
Light appears colourless or white. Sunlight is white light that is composed of all the colors of the spectrum. A rainbow is proof. You can't see the colours of sunlight except when atmospheric conditions bend the light rays and create a rainbow. You can also use a prism to demonstrate this.

Its from this that we then get colours, where red is the dominant it is red we see etc etc

Came in useful that art degree lol

so If I understand this properly its a monotone image thats required? (a single colour/tone in varying shades)

been looking at the K-30 ......... not so sure, may trade in my K-x for a new K-5 and get the cashback. I have come across problems with buying new gear before when its just been released, then the manufacturer waits on the consumer to tell them what needs fixing or tweaking. Then 12 months later they fix it.

If the current conversion rate continues as is, it would be worth buying a K-30 from the States paying for shipping and import duty and still be £40+ better off, that is if the software is the same of course.

Personally I sit in RAW edit for a long while, just playing about. I do click on the Auto settings to start with, both image and WB but then play with everything to see what works best. I even open Jpegs in RAW too but with the reduction in resolution to start they can turn out a bit iffy. I do save the cropping until I am in photoshop though.

As for the photo's don't be afraid of a shallower DOF as increasing the appeture allows a faster shutter speed, and can result in a sharper close up at distance. With nice bokeh in the background.

this was about 15-20 ft away

Taken with my K-x
Format was RAW+
F/5.6
1/1600th
ISO 200
focal length 90mm

saved before crop as a Tiff and after as jpeg resolution 240ppi

Hope some of this makes sense but all the images I took on my birds of prey day were wide appeture and fast shutter even the macros. link to the shots took below.

hope some of this helps
