or if you have a usb connector conect them both together, click on start, click on control panel, switch to classic view, click on devices and printers, right click on iPad update driver. close window goto my computer iPad should be there then its a drag and drop routine

Hello my names John and i haven't .......... sorry wrong forum

Anyway, as I said I am John, I primarily came on here to ask about a android app but wow what a nice place.

I am a sculptor by trade, and basically use my pentax K-x as a tool to show my work. Not as the work itself. Though I do dabble in sports, wildlife and the occasional model. Which is where i get my inspiration from.

My kit as I have said its a K-x. the basic lens it came with plus smc PENTAX-FA 1:4-5.6 35-80mm (second hand) a new Tamron AF70-300mm F/4-5.6 Di LD macro 1:2 (which i love) and a cheap godox speedlite TT520 flash. I am thinking of getting a 500-1000mm mirror lens as I quite like the effect they give on the edges.

I am not an expert Tog but I do know more do not's than I do do's (learn by your mistakes)and as an artist I am always looking to try new techniques. I have had arguments in the past about being an artist and photography as art and there is a fine line and depends on what the person wants to be known as. For me photography is not the prime medium of my work hence artist, photographic artist uses it as a main medium and a photographer is everyone who uses a camera to capture moments for prosperity or to pass on moments in time....... let the arguing begin. joke its only my way of understanding what I do.

Why I went for PENTAX? My dad gave me his old 1970's pentax when i first started art school in the 80's and I find them the easiest to use, its that simple.

I don't know how much advice or help I can be when it comes down to photography in its own right, but composition and structure and story telling I can talk a good game. I find every picture has a story whether intentional or by fluke and this is what I love about art .. The telling of a tale to all those that look. For those that see a picture may tell them a entirely different story.

Have you ever thought about hosting your own site? Not as hard as you think. There are so many website building softwares out there, or you could always get someone to build you one (I'm looking at a friends daughter who is studying web design at college). Then its just a matter of finding someone to print. Sounds long winded, but in the end you have 100% control and do not have to pay a % of what you sell just printing costs. The cost of website vary but you would no doubt get a deal from your ISP.

I have an android tablet zenithink ZT-280 C91 review link here http://www.ebellking.com/blog/2012/02/zenithink-zt-280-c91-review/, which i can plug in a usb card reader for the SDHC. not ideal but just the same as plugging into a notebook. Also its very light and portable as it fits in my camera bag. There are apps available that allow editing on the fly etc etc. I am researching an app that will allow live view and edit, nothing as yet but I am waiting for emails from developers.

why android over netbook or lap top?

Android Tablets are available from £89 new, depending on screen size. I have a 10.2 inch screen which cost £108 then added an extra 16GB memory card which took it up to £130. Which is still cheaper than a netbook/laptop.

The way the Tablet market is taking off, I think that laptops etc will start reducing in price. Just remember when buying a laptop or netbook steer clear of Celeron as they are low grade processors (used to be pentium 4 rejects).

If money was no object I would by a MAC Book light and take the studio outside.

No its not...... found it hard enough at school in the 80's with the ZX Spectrum

I do want it as an aid, a quick reference just like you do with your models. also as a time saver. as i can fill up 8gb in 2 hours... problem with wildlife and sports when you have the reflexes of a striking sloth like i do, i would say 6gb is wasted space taken up.

Though not sure how much control I would want personally so tethering may be a bit too complex for my needs but ideal for others. I take it is very much like linking up to a mac in a studio, all camera work is done on the camera and view and possible edit on the tablet. this is where i had the idea. sort of like taking the studio outside.

Anyway emailed an android app development company (who are looking for developers btw) fingers crossed they may get back to me as did mention there would more than likely be a large market for this app both professionally and for the everyday user.

Now of to look at these forums see if there are points that will help me stop wasting valuable sdhc space.

If I get an email back about development of an app like this, do you think it would have a market?

shame about there not being an app, there should be one really. I know an app design company in Wiltshire, I wonder if giving them a heads up as to needs and wants may inspire them.

OK as to Ey-Fi never used it but will look into it thank you. I suppose it is sort of what I am looking for, then a photo editing app to play with balance and contrast. Just a shame they are so expensive.

I also like RAW+ just a shame it takes up so much space. but can't knock the quality. Even opening JPeg in Camera Raw is not quite the same.

I was wondering if anyone knows if there is an android app out there that will allow me to conect my K-x to an android pad. I have just recieved one of these pads as a present, and as I do most of my work in the middle of nowhere, I was wondering if such an app existed.

I see other makers have compatable software but can not find anything for the pentax.

Also there are a lot of apps that use android phones for IR remote, but this is not what I desire. What I would like to be able to do is, instant view and maybe a little minor tweaking.

Any help even if negative would be welcome, if it doesn't exist why not? Androids are much easier to use than laptops especially out in the sticks, as they are light and very portable. or is there something in the pipeline?
