Long exposures on K-x

I am doing a course at the local college and one of the tasks is to take a long exposure shot at night, but I can only seem to get it to go to 30 seconds, bulb means I have to hold my finger on the button. Is there a way of setting a longer exposure (I have lost my manual).

Thanks in advance

Hi rover 49 - this is easy with the K-x. Buy a cheap remote control for a couple of quid, set the menu option on the K-x for 'Remote Control in Bulb' to open the shutter on the first remote press and close it on the second press, set the camera to 'Bulb' mode and off you go! You can have an exposure as long as you like with remote operation so no chance of camera-shake!
