And No, N & C won't bring out something competing, because they don't need to. That market share would be to small compared to the R & D involved.
I'd like a Pentax one with the K20D/K7 sensor and a 28.6mm f/1.9 (43mm equiv) lens. Having said that (and having been thinking about this a lot lately), I want the lens to retract fully into the body when powered off to retain a pocketable shape - so I'd settle for a 28.6mm f/2.8 in the name of ergonomics if space is tight

Still, if you want it anyway it's now on evilBay so feel free to bid

...but I have already got one of those thanks to hefty's not very subliminal persuasion...
If anyone has a K20D body they wanted to exchange, I would be interested in that.
It's due to go on eBay Tuesday evening otherwise. I'll even throw in a free Zeiss Nettar 6x6 MF folder...

The f/1.4 design is slightly faster but also slightly softer at the edges until stopped down to around f/4.
The f/1.7 is sharp in the edges by around f/2.8 and has a more "even" character.
The things that make the f/1.4 perform relatively poorly in lab tests are actually the same things that make it an excellent portrait lens (where a little softness at the edges is a good thing) with lovely bokeh.
If you want a lens for recording things in more forensic detail then the f/1.7 would probably suit you better (especially if you want to use it on extension tubes or bellows for macro work).
Hope that helps

The M 200/4 isn't bad if you get a good example, but they tend to fetch higher prices (still under £100 but not as cheap as the 135's).
I also have an A version of the 100mm f2.8 Just curious

My vote goes to the K100D Super, because it has the extra LCD panel on top, the info in which I would be lost without.
IQ wise I doubt you will see a significant difference.
It's one of those things that you probably wouldn't miss if you've never experienced one. If you have had one before though you wouldn't want to be without it again...

Well Koenigsegg (makers of expensive supercars) have recently bought Saab, which is the equivalent of Hasselblad stepping in to buy Pentax.
I'd love Saab to go back to their roots and start producing quirky-yet-brilliant cars again, with Koenigsegg at the helm it might even happen!

Hold one probe on each and fire the flash manually - that'll give you your reading.
