The answer of course is the standard photographic response, you need them both.

I have seen decent results with the Q fisheye lens. I think for the price it's probably worth a play. One caveat for me would be the f5.6 meaning higher iso might be required for a lot of interior shots, where I think fisheyes can give good results. And in lower lighting I think higher iso on the Q is really pretty ropey. But for outdoors, why not.

For exactly those reasons I prefer the second take because the stark contrast accentuates the starkness of the scene. I think blowing the detail in the snow is the right thing to do, the texture in the snow isn't enough to make the scene anyway. Not so keen on the black band at the bottom.
Breaking the rules is good and I think the right choice here. The look is reminiscent of the Best Of Joy Division cover. Not in that league of course but I like it.

Why the fixation with sharpness ?
How sharp do we really need to go ?
I have images accepted by Alamy,Istockphoto,Fotolia and Dreamstime taken with a Samsung GX20, K5 and K30 obviously these photos are sharp enough to be accepted by stock libraries so do I really need them any sharper?
