I am visiting the Americans more now and uploads are larger, so I'm getting used to them. I find a 1280 px width much more pleasurable to view than 800. It's a bit like going back to 28" tv's which used to be plenty.

I'll include some 100% crops, but I think these photos still give a good impression of other characteristics of a lens. I'm finding it useful, I hope others are.

All uploads are resized, the click throughs too. Trouble with links is that they end up being broken, especially by me as I am a serial image tinkerer.

Every time I think my SDM is broken I faff around for a while, eventually flick the switch on the lens back to AF and it works again.

It had never occurred to me that shot was with the Q Andrew, great stuff. The larger dof is great for candids as there is much more chance of getting the subject in focus.

It has been confirmed elsewhere that it has been discontinued. No indication of a replacement.

The K1.2 looks very good. I was impressed with the Tak so I splurged out on a K55mmf1.8 for the convenience of the mount. I believe it's optically the same, certainly produces the same look:

The main reason for me to an upgrade from a K5 would be lower noise too. It's good but there's still a long way to go. I'd be happy to sacrifice some megapixels for that.

Smeggy, can't you just make the rasta alien your avatar? It's easily the most commonly posted shot on the forum.

No official company announcement but it was reported that a Pentax executive at CP+ confirmed that a ff was under development in an interview. The delivery date is speculation by the interviewer.

Seems certain enough to me. I think we'll get a ff for not a lot more than current APSC launch prices. I'm looking forward to it as having two bodies ff/apsc will give dual use to lenses. I'll only be buying ff compatible lenses from now on.
