I too love the first one which is so sharp, you must have been able to get quite near to it, here in Lincolnshire they are fairly common. On sunny days they can be almost every 1/2 mile along the roadside sitting on wires hedges and trees, but try to get near and they are off.
Brilliant set by the way.

I can sympathise I do hope this is an exception to the rule but I fear it may be not be. These days many big multi national and national companies seem to be more interested in profit and don't value customer loyalty. I suggest you write registered post to the highest person at Pentax you can find an address for. You might get joy but if like Fuji who passed my letter down to the very department I had the grievance with, then I suggest you find a soft wall before hitting your head against it. I deemed after my experience with Fuji I would never buy anything of theirs again so I moved to Pentax.
Fuji had my camera in for a known concern which they agreed to do under warranty. The camera spent weeks back and forth five or six times only to come back with faults it didn't originally have. Finally they admitted they couldn't repair it. New units were unavailable so they replaced it with a factory demo unit, this was after I even offered to pay to upgrade but they wouldn't agree to that. The replacement they sent looked much the worse for wear, but at least it worked OK. That's why I swapped to Pentax as I heard their service was better, maybe you will get some joy, please let us know as 5 months for a repair is atrocious let alone the no discount issue.

Thanks for all the information, I now realise that the expanded sensitivity comes with restrictions to many other settings.

Often wondered why expanded Sensitivity/ISO isn't the standard camera setting. I have set my K5ii to expanded ISO as I like the low ISO 80 for when the light is very good and using slow shutter speeds. I haven't seen any draw back to having the extra High and Low ISO available so;
Is there a disadvantage and if not why not keep it set to Expanded Sensitivity then its there when and if you need it.

Welcome Maria, nothing is a bother to people who like to help and there are many very experienced Pentax Users here happy to give expert advice. (I'm no expert but willing to try to help). Have a good time and post some of your photos so we can see what a K3 in New Mexico can do.

In reply to David Robinson above, I've been here all the time, but I'm not a prolific poster! Mainly because I still regard myself as a novice and am frequently overawed by the quality of so many posts which mine don't match up to. I've got a few landscapes I could ask for comments on, so maybe I should be a bit more active!
No these are not the work of a novice they are excellent, I especially love the landscapes, the bird shots are outstanding they put mine to shame but, I am a real novice. Please don't keep them to yourself we need to see them.

Very nice, I have to be honest a slower shutter speed may have been better for the props but then you risk blurring the whole photo. Keep producing them like that and you cant go wrong they are excellent and very professional. The Lancaster is the one I favour as it gives the impression you took it from above it. They are all cracking shots.

Forgot to ask, haven't seen you much recently on the site, where have you been? What camera was used for these? The Swallow photos are spot on and the coast photos are just as I remember Northumberland's sunsets.

They are all excellent but Northumberland takes some beating. I agree with Stan reduce or remove the copyright notice and then the Northumberland Coast would be back where it should be "Top Dog".

Problem is they had just got the old version working properly and then forced this one on us which was pretty awful for a while. Even now if your using IE11 and Windows 7 the slideshow feature zooms and crops your photos. The work round is to right click on the slideshow icon and choose "Open" from the drop down menu then it loads the old version of slideshow. You shouldn't have to be doing this with what's supposed to be a slicker system. I'm paying at the moment so I don't get the adverts but not for much longer if they keep messing up with what works OK then I'll cancel. Problem is Photobucket did much the same and the adverts and porn pop links got very offensive and aggressive. I couldn't risk my grand children seeing them and moved to Flickr which up to about 6 months ago was pretty good but now I just don't no what to expect next from Flickr.
