I'd rather not use a tc but crop in instead.

Roughly doing the same thing but without the light loss and slight extra weight.

The other thing is 1/500 sec is a tad to slow, based on rough suggestions your shutter speed should be more than your focal length.

So 450mm on a crop camera is 695mm without a tc so you'd need to be 1/800 sec minimum and roughly 1/250 with the tc

I am going to have a test with 1/1000 shutter and let you know how I get on.

I had been trying to avoid too high shutter speed because of the trade off with higher ISO but I know you are correct.

I have only been using the convertor today for BIF (Red Kites) so its early days but I seem to have more throw away images due to fuzzy images than without the converter. Only a handful of 127 photos were usable and even then they seem to not be perfectly on focus. See the photo in the gallery which is the best of todays shots. link
Any thoughts would be greatly received. Camera a K3ll was set to F8 1/500 sec, ISO set to auto in this case 200 iso, focus priority. RAW image processed in Adobe PSE 2021

I love the Morris Minor van and the humour of the owners, see the sign writing "Tappet and Crank, Motor Engineers"

A wonderful set of memories, the trouble is several similar cars I was working on during my early days as an apprentice/motor mechanic. Brilliant photos it looks like the sun was just perfect.

I admit I have mistaken the odd camera photo with those taken on a DSLR however I like the feel of a real camera with a viewfinder. Welcome to the Forum by the way.

I second that. Dragonflies are just too fast and too erratic for me.
