I am Maria Kruse and I live in the south central region of New Mexico, USA. I just got a K3 and am trying to get familiar with it. I hope to learn a lot and not be too much of a bother.

Welcome Maria, nothing is a bother to people who like to help and there are many very experienced Pentax Users here happy to give expert advice. (I'm no expert but willing to try to help). Have a good time and post some of your photos so we can see what a K3 in New Mexico can do.

Hi Maria,

Welcome,

I'll be in NM in a few weeks with my K-3 - tanking down Route 66 but I guess R66 is in the North of your state....

Hi Maria, welcome to the forum.
I love New Mexico! First visited when we drove rte 66 in 2002 and then went back again a few years later to explore it further. Even then we didn't see all we would have liked.

I bought my first Pentax in Albuquerque on the rte 66 trip.

Welcome, Maria.

For goodness sake don't feel as if you're bothering anyone. It's not like you're continually coming round to borrow a cup of sugar, or anything. We love to have new members from foreign climes: it makes the forum so much more interesting.

I'm looking forward to some wonderfully detailed K3 images of the New Mexican desert. Not much desert scenery round here: it's not stopped raining for 36 hours!
Best wishes,

Andrew

We had a good 10 minutes of rain last night and maybe a full 30 min the evening before. That's it for what they call the "Monsoon Season" around her. I miss rain.
Doc says by next week I should be able to go out and shoot. Will still have to take eyedrops for a bit. I want to get some nice shots of one of our local roadrunners, she's quite bold. Pretty bird but you can see the raptor in her.
Thanks again for the warm welcome.
