Well done! (Especially with regard to the source of the funds )

Got mine for £35 in a Warehouse Express clearance, that's a ridiculous price.

If you can get a Jessops branded rubber eyecup, for pentax/olympus (I think), that will fit fine, it's what I use.

Dan

P.S. Having found none on ebay, I might have to start stock-piling any I see...

I believe the IR filter on the sensor is much stronger on the K10D than it was on the *ist series/K100D, so it blocks much more of the IR spectrum. Hence the very long shutter speeds, and the inaccuracy of Av mode - the camera doesn't know you're trying to shoot IR shots, it just thinks it's dark.

I suppose potentially, the metering sees more of the IR than the sensor does too, so that may make it underexpose.

Dan

P.S. Focal length shouldn't make any difference, although focusing might be more difficult at longer lengths.

I've seen them using Gwyn's method, but still can't see them from the link.

I get this quite often, both with my K10D, and the *istD before it, and only when using the grip.

Reason is one of the wheels has moved slightly between 'clicks', and the corresponding wheel (on the grip say) will not change anything until the other wheel is moved a bit.

Hope that makes sense. Basically, if one wheel doesn't do anything, check the other one, as it will be halfway betweem clicks. You've already found that, as you said "If I then roll the "same" wheel on the grip the normal wheels works again???", but that's the reason.

Well, hopefully the smilies are now sorted...

Just doing this message to try them out.

Dan

Just discovered that although they now work when clicked on, they still go at the end of the message, rather than where the cursor is. Will update report accordingly. It's a pain in the backside to keep having to stop and add a smiley, I want to do them when I've finished typing.

Re: Smilies, yes I have. It was me that suggested they showed them by default, so I felt I should do. However, just realised I didn't make the report 'active' again, so just done that.
