At that price I will sell mine and buy the 1.7X pentax teleconverter.
I thought it was a bit over the top when I paid £70 delivered from the USA a couple of months ago.

Blimey, I bought mine for £40 from the States just to see what it was like, looks like its going on eBay now!

Got mine for £35 in a Warehouse Express clearance, that's a ridiculous price.

Apparently it has to be the MC4 version as it is fully compatible with all Pentax lenses and the K20D. The one not labelled MC4 is fine with K10D but will not work with the K20D and certain Pentax lenses.

I got one with an SFX kit I picked up on E-bay which included 2 smc f series lenses 70-210 and 35-70 a bag and a sigma flash for 80quid.

When i took off the top cap it was apparent it was for a Nikon. That would explain why it looked so new and why it wasn't mentioned in the listing :

Put it back on E-Bay and got 35 quid for it.
Not sure if it was an MC4 though :

Finished at £180 plus postage.


Mine is the MC4 version ....

Then......the seller of this one is going to be happy also.

PS, Pentax should hurry up with those SDM converters. Seems they let slip a lot of money. Hope they don't follow evil bay. Otherwise they probably double the intended price, without a blink of their eyes.

Is this one valued because it has the SDM contacts in it? it's the reason I bought mine, to see if it worked!

I can't tell from the pictures. I'll guess not.

Yes but the MC4 version will work with the K20D and SDM lenses whereas the previous model will not.
I may actually keep mine as I am waiting for the 60-250mm, it may be quite a good match.

I have a Kenko teleplus 2X MC7 - same contact layout so hopefully for future upgrades maybe I'm ready?
(It cost £29 from local LCE)

returning to original post: proves again some people have more money than sense. I know this hobby/life can be an obsession but!!!

I'd love a 1.7af for the mirror 'cos it's a pig to get a perfect "still" focus with a 2x, moving - forget it!
It will be found - one day.

CZJ Flektogon 35/2.4 with fungus and oil on the blades. I have a Flek (and love it) but the focussing is a bit stiff and the filter thread is knackered so I was hoping to get a spares Flek and swap the body over. But not for 58 quid I won't!
