Personally, I really expected the hot chocolate to come out on top.
Thanks for that, perhaps the next theme could be 'Chocolate-based beverages'...

I loved Prieni's gummi bears, but thought "where did he get blue ones from?" Then I noticed the glow in front of them - yellow ones photoshopped! Just proves my point in another thread that it's easy to miss things when you start playing about with them. Still an excellent shot though, think it would have been my winner.

Well done Keen2Learn, nicely judged. Hopefully this week we can finally get the closing time sorted so that no-one misses out on submitting their entries. Giving Tree's donuts are making me hungry...

Having been chastised previously for short notice, I thought I'd do this one a bit ahead of time.

For anyone in the Chelmsford area, we're playing three gigs (we being The Tibetan Tea Company) over the next few of weeks, and we'd be very grateful of any photos if someone wants to have a go at some gig photography!

Details on our website, link above.

Thanks,
Dan

The way that Pentax addresses autofocus has always been different to the others - they use a double check which is missing from Canon and Nikon cameras as far as I know.

So a C/N will get its initial focus and fire, whereas a Pentax will get initial focus, then confirm it, then fire. The K20D has an option to switch this double check off, thereby apparently speeding up the autofocus, at the expense of possibly not being quite in focus.

I still use the K10D so can't say whether this works or not, but I'm generally happy with the focusing of my K10D with DA*300mm for animal shots.

Are you bracketing shutter speed or aperture?
PS... I'm curious as to why some of the sensor spots look like they have ghosts down and to the right a little.
Me too, but the way the 'ghosts' are bigger, would indicate a larger aperture, so f/8 and f/6.7 or something like that.

The sky looks odd just above the mountains, I'm guessing that it was pretty washed out here, and Photomatix has darkened it. And as Nimitz mentioned, there's a halo around the tower. So it does look like an HDR, just not so obviously as some.

If it could then i reckon you could create hdr time lapse.
How long a film do you want to produce? 30 seconds? That's 750 frames. Do you really want to spend your week processing 750 HDR pics?

Hmmm, I would have thought that the filter should be on as a default, with the option to switch it off with a clear statement about the consequences of doing so. I have just been shocked again by the seedy Mr. Elgar!

I realise that, and I hope you didn't find my comments too harsh bearing in mind the context of your post. Criticism was meant to be given constructively, and I hope that I may have helped you in some way.

Whatever you do, don't stop trying things because a couple of people don't like your results!

No problem! Glad we got it sorted in the end.

Ah, that's given me a warm glow.
