Spelling looks OK to me. Or is Nimitz a pseudonym for someone who has been in the news a lot recently, and you actually meant "weals"?Sorry I can't edit the spelling in the heading......

I had a similar problem with an ist D and it needed a repair. In my case it was the mode dial. I guess it was the electronics not coupling from the dial to the circuit board so the camera stayed on AV when I wanted to change ISO.

I get this quite often, both with my K10D, and the *istD before it, and only when using the grip.
Reason is one of the wheels has moved slightly between 'clicks', and the corresponding wheel (on the grip say) will not change anything until the other wheel is moved a bit.
Hope that makes sense. Basically, if one wheel doesn't do anything, check the other one, as it will be halfway betweem clicks. You've already found that, as you said "If I then roll the "same" wheel on the grip the normal wheels works again???", but that's the reason.

Sometimes I can roll the wheels without any changes in aperture/iso or speed.
If I then roll the "same" whell on the grip the normal wheels works again???
It has happend quite a few times. It is like the wheels freezes. Hope you get it.
(and it is not due to playback mode or anything like that )
