New forum Style

Yes, it is very much different from the old layout and style. This has been created so we can add in new features/upgrades that the community requests. Alot more of the site runs off a database which makes it easier for everyone to add updates to the site quicker.

- You now can upload to the gallery instantly (no need to post/email)
- News is searchable now
- you have your own portfolio
- and alot more extras scattered about.

Feel free to have a look around. If you find any bugs, or have problem, feel free to submit a report using the link at the bottom of the page and we will help you as soon as possible.

It sure will take time - but a long needed update IMO.

Wonder if we already should use the new competition mode in the gallery section

I wondered about that too, but maybe we should start with the next comp, since this one is already underway.

Seems like David already made a comment about that in the competition thread.

One querie though, is the members porfolio only for those who pay the subscription?

Is the "New posts since last visit" option lost forever, I can't seem to find an identical alternative?

Additional question: are there any restrictions on image uploading? (ie number per day, dimensions, file size etc)

Well.. First impressions, horrible. Really don't like it at all.

Advertising takes up a third of the width on my screen at work, which makes all photos posted a lot smaller, then you have to click on them to view them at the intended size.

No details at all about the user. Newbies will have no idea who people are, how long they have been here, level of contributione etc.etc.

Red on black is a design no no. Colour blind people can't see it properly.

2 different sections called gallery, one in the forum, one not, so now we have to leave the forum to check the competition page.

For the moment a very definate thumbs down from me I'm afraid.

it does take a while to get used to it. i am still trying. i am finding it really hard to

- distinguish between a sticky post and a non stick post. the two images are almost identical. can the sticky one have a bright yellow/red pin to make it more obvious

-it is not easy to see which topics have new comments. it was quite obvious before. can the icon flash or doe something to indicate new comment

- do we have rss or atom feeds now?

There is no longer a members list that i can see.
And your total number of posts has been removed.
Also your location and country. I would like to see this one back.

Pming can be done by either going to someones portfolio and clicking on Send Message. Or going to My Messages and Clicking New Message.

Members list is Community -> Members Search.

Agree....didn't notice first....all the good info lost.

Edit: And the list of who is online atm. is gone.....please put it back.

Logged out, logged back in 20 or so mins later, there are a few new posts, but it hasn't told me on the main forum screen.

User names are not with avatars, they are in with the posts, makes it harder to see than it was before.

So I'm not sure where 'long needed update' comes from, for me it was perfectly fine the way it was. Now it seems that the actual forum part, the bit we actually use, is going backwards, less information, harder to see, harder to read, harder to navigate, just a general feeling of 'yuk'

Sorry if my judgment sounds rather harsh, but it very much seems like progress for progress sake. At the moment, it's so off putting that I would ask if you could put it back the way it was until you can come up with something better!
