Hi everyone,

I recently purchased a K20 and I'v realized that the internal intervalometer it's only capable to take up to 99 pictures, is there any third partner intervalometer or tip to take more than 99 when shooting timelapses?

Thanks to you all!!!

Cool feature. I have not heard of the K20 having that feature.

If you can tether to a PC, try the Remote Assistant software.
Unfortunately, the last time I tried with my K10D, I got a lot of application crashes, hung connections and even stuck up my camera until I pulled the batteries.

I haven't had the need or patience to try with the latest version.
It might be worth a go.

Well it certainly does have that feature, I'v already tried the remote assistant but this software has the same feature : 99 pictures. it has to be some kind of device connected to the camera external port that makes the camera shot when you want . for instance 1 frame every second or every five secs.

Thanks anyway Tony....

That's too bad.
Remote assistant is OK, but it does lack some basic functionality that just keeps it from going over the edge from "nice toy" to truly usable. One more to add to the "nice toy" category. ergh!

There are several devices like this on ebay which can be programmed to shoot between 1-399 or unlimited shots. They're not very expensive so may be worth a punt.

interesting - so if i was to buy one of these and set it to take shots at regular intervals and had my k10 connected via the remote assistant and the shots were saved to my laptops hard drive in theory if i got the time gap between each frame could i use a software app to stich them together to create a moving image? ive seen a sight that mentions this theory and also about sampling the frames to hd and watching back at hyperspeed - unfortunately it didnt explain how!

google arduino.

there have been some homemade intravolemeters made for canon (should fit Pentax) using those.
they're relatively cheap.

check out Make magazine, or Instructables.

good luck!

does anyone know what software could be used to put all those shots together to create the timelapse animation/video?

You can use just about any video editing program. I wouldn't normally advocate Microsoft's freebie Movie Maker, but for something this simple, it should suffice.

Just keep in mind that you'll need 25 frames for 1 second of video, unless you show each frame for an extended period of time.

If you load each frame and set it's length to 1/2 second, you'll need 2 frames per second of video.

Thanks don , i wonder if the timer remote code as posted by hefty1 from ebay would allow auto bracketing to operate , i do this now with my cabled remote for my hdr stuff.
If it could then i reckon you could create hdr time lapse.

How long a film do you want to produce? 30 seconds? That's 750 frames. Do you really want to spend your week processing 750 HDR pics?
