I was just about to take the plunge with Blurb then noticed the forum on their own web site had numerous complaints regarding the quality of the books. Any advice from anyone on other experiences? Blurb seemed like a good deal on the face of it but no point saving money and be disappointed with the end result.

well Lilly a well shot pic of some liquorice allsorts would suit my taste in sweets, good for monochrome too.

Anyway thanks Lilly for the comments on mine. I am rather pleased with that shot, I must get round to printing a copy for the lady in the picture as I think she will like it too.

Interesting thing on these comp's is what people like or not. I must say the winner this time would not have been my choice at all, all very much in the eye of the beholder.

Two pictures below taken on k10d with Tamron 70-300mm. The first from Chester Mystery Plays seems fine, colours all ok, and a good shot (not taken by me) at 180mm on a bright day. The second on a very sunny day on a boat trip, no matter whether I was zoomed right out to 300mm or down to 180mm I was seeing the same purple fringing (chromatic abberation?) on water bubbles that caught the bright sunlight, see bottom right of second picture. Be glad to hear comments on how this could be minimized, but suspect I am dealing with a lens limitation. Tried some pp adjustment in slikypix but could not fix this. The medium size pic on here might not look so bad but get up closer and you see that unnatural purple edge.

I'm after exactly the same thing for a wedding, and after comments here have started to look at Blurb, it looks very good and quite reasonably priced especially for a Brit where the exchange rate with the US is favourable. I'll post results when I order one.

I'm assuming you need the shutter speed just right to get the rotor blades looking right, you have that just right, what shutter speed did you use?

i like this with the shadow finishing it off nicely. probably you are right it could be levelled off. And cropped a little bit too. So does he just hang out there all day and occasionally do a flip?

Looks to me like it could be a ladybird (or similar) larvae. If it is and it's hatched it probably would be more of an empty shell, so maybe it's about to come out. I remember watching one come out when I was a boy, don't think my Brownie camera (cost 25p at a jumble sale) would have caught it as well as you have though!
