Making a Wedding album (photo book) who to use?

It's now 3 weeks away from the wedding we are shooting, and we plan to do as good a wedding album (photo book type) as we can as a wedding present .

I believe that the pros use Graphistudio, but as I can't see prices on their website, I guess I shouldn't ask as I won't be able to afford it!

Just wondering how many of you have had these types of books printed, who to use, who to avoid, how good are the books ordered from Apple, basically any advice you can give please!

We use apple.
I won't hesitate to recommend them!
They make great gifts, and to be honest, most couples think they're fabulous, but still opt for the expensive leather albums to go with them.
Fired many shots. Didn't kill anything.

The Apple books are fantastic - absolutely gorgeous quality and impeccable finish and binding.

Others can be as good, but I have seen many with rough finishes and slightly less good image reproduction.

I have used Blurb before, whilst good value & speedy service the quality control was very poor, lots of smudges & print errors repeaterd through the book.

Thinks for the heads up on the Apple books guys, they are cheap enough to do a test one, glad to know the quality is good!

Although we made ours on a Mac I think you can do it just as well on a PC.

Hi John

I may be being incredibly stupid but I can't find a UK link for iPhoto, can you post the link or address as to where I can get some UK info?

Thanks.
Cheers
Brian.

Make that four. It seems there is no PC version of the iPhoto software that is needed, so you need a friend with a Mac to use this facility.

Fortunately my son Mike uses a Mac, so we have been making the books on his machine.

There's no doubt that the Mac has many advantages for imaging.

Strange, though. There's iTunes for Windows, and indeed Safari.

Why not iPhoto? Surely no inveterate Windows users are going to get a Mac just so they can get some nice photo albums - yet if the Apple books are really that good, there's money to be made by offering iPhoto (and indeed the suite it's part of) for the PC.

Maybe it's on the way and in due course we'll be able to use iPhoto.

you guys should see the book design options from within aperture!

but i digress...

you can layout a book in photoshop and save it as a pdf.....and send that in.

but other places do offer high quality books...I've just never had to look for them.....

who wants to eat out when you got steak at home?
